Sanitary Napkin: Testing Summary

• PH Value
  Purpose : To ensure the product is skin-friendly and does not disturb the natural pH of intimate areas.
  Ideal Range : Typically between 4.0 – 7.5 (skin-neutral)
  Result : pH of sample: 6.43 - pH within safe limits
• Phthalate Test
  Purpose : To check for the presence of harmful chemicals (phthalates), which can cause hormonal disruptions or irritation.
  Result : Not detected
• Biocompatibility Test - Cytotoxicity
  Purpose : To ensure that materials used in the napkin do not cause cell damage or toxicity when in contact with the skin.
  Result : As per ISO 10993-5, the sample showed non-cytotoxic effects
  The sample is biocompatible and safe for skin contact, showing no toxic effects on tested cells.
• Wet back after repeated liquid strike through time (WSP 70.8)
  Purpose : This test checks how well the napkin absorbs liquid and prevents it from coming back to the surface, which is important for keeping users dry and comfortable.
  It measures absorbency performance over repeated fluid applications and surface dryness.
  Method Adjustment : Instead of the standard 5-minute interval, we conducted the test at 1-minute intervals to simulate more realistic results.
  Result : Surface Strike-Through Time (STT) recorded for each application
  Wetback measured to assess how much fluid is released back to the surface after pressure is applied

• Ability to Withstand Pressure After Absorption
  Purpose : To test how well the pad retains liquid under pressure, which simulates sitting, walking, or physical movement. Measures Leakage prevention and structural integrity of the pad after absorbing liquid.
  Test Conditions : Total Volume of Test Fluid: 30 ml
  Dispensing Rate: 5 ml/minAfter full absorption, a defined pressure is applied to evaluate fluid leakage or rewetting.
  Result : No leakage observed under applied pressure
